What you’re seeing is a result of the Blender subreddit being almost entirely populated by amateurs, memers, and people who think being rude to people asking questions is fun. The C4D subreddit is far more mature, and has a better representative slate of artwork as as result.
Yes.
Possibly, but it really depends on the user. With any DCC program- garbage in, garbage out.
Because C4D is used mainly by motion graphics professionals, and Blender is used by a wide range of amateurs

[FINAL]
Hi. This is my latest work, inspired by some photos I’ve seen online. I mainly used botaniq addon, megascans and poliigon textures and some old textures from CGTextures (now textures.com ). My goal was to capture the forest’s misty atmosphere and the warmth of a small cabin waiting for visitors with its fireplace burning. I hope you like it.

[Houseplants10 (DOF)]
My latest project in which I tried to focus myself on the Indoorplants as well as realism.
The plants are from a variery of libraries like Quixel, Globeplants and Poliigon. I had to rework a lot of them to make them work properly with the Cycles render-engine as they were not optimised for it.
Lighting is done with the Physical Starlight and Atmosphere add-on and postprocecessing in Photoshop.
Curious about your opinions!

More renders coming from the tutorial course I’ve been producing for 2 years (BTW it releases at the end of this month on cgcookie.com and the blender market !)
I’ve primarily posted full-frame portraits (Simon , Abe , Colin ) but for this I wanted to stress-test the details up close. This model is the “Colin” head (as taught step-by-step in the HUMAN course) and to my surprise the only thing I had to tweak was the amount of vellus hairs.
I only used Blender to create everything from scratch. No z…
UPDATE 10/10/2020: You can read an in-depth “Behind the Scenes” article about this project at BlenderNation ! Enjoy
This is my second 3D project, and my first big modeling project at the same time. Learned tons of stuff, namely:
HDRIs are next to useless in studio lighting situations, especially if you want to achieve precise control over reflections
Hard lights are more interesting than soft lights (when you can use them)
Photorealism needs to be subtle: it…
[Telephone-final-render_adjusted_contrast]
Hello guys! After a long time, i’m back with an old Vintage telephone. I have worked on this asset in order to be able to learn how to use Substance Painter, so i created this model during an amazing course by Felipe Ferreira here in Brazil. I was able to learn a lot from Felipe during his classes, and now i feel pretty confident using Substance.
This project was created using Blender 2.91, Substance Painter 2021and Photoshop. The main images were re…
